Sierra Madre

Jungle rivers, mountain towns and adrenaline in the foothills.

About Sierra Madre

Minutes from the beach, the Sierra Madre rises into thick tropical forest cut by clear rivers. This is where Puerto Vallarta gets its adventure reputation: ziplines strung across canyons, muddy ATV trails and swimming holes under waterfalls.

Further up the mountains, the 17th-century silver-mining town of San Sebastián del Oeste — a Pueblo Mágico — offers cobblestone streets, coffee farms and a slower pace.

San Sebastián del Oeste

A colonial mountain town at 1,480 m with haciendas, a working coffee plantation and sweeping views over the Sierra.
